![]() ![]() For now- again, you've been very helpful. ![]() I'm not going to say its solved yet- we'll see if it is still working by Wednesday- if so I'll give you the solved button. I have not run the Etrecheck, but have downloaded the app and if this problem decides to persist at tomorrow's start up- I'll run it.įor now, thank you for all your help. I've since turned off all the third party programs that have the option to launch at start up and the Acrobat Tracker still seems to be working. Then played around, deleted the Acrobat Pro preference again, did another safe boot, and it worked perfectly fine. So today I did the safe boot and still had a crash. I was able to reboot and the program was stable- the tracker launched without any crashes- however, if I completely turned off the computer, then turned it back on- the crashing continued until I trashed the preference. I tested several things and noticed if I throw away the .plist the program will work fine. And good thing, because it crashed today. I was able to restart and the program appeared stable, but I wasn't ready to post that the problem was solved. On Friday I ran a program that sweeps for viruses and thought that solved the problem. This will show what is running on your computer. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. ![]() Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Try running this program and then copy and paste the output in a reply. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. ![]()
